A View of Our Studio

We thought we'd start off the new year with a sneak peek at our studio.  As mentioned previously in a blog entry, we've been working hard to update our studio.  It wouldn't have been possible without a lot of work from Shirley's hubby and a few friends!

Once Harleigh arrived in the studio things were a little crowded and it was obvious that more cabinet and countertop space was needed.  In the process of adding those features, our studio also gained a wall of pegboard to organize and store all of our machine accessories, thread and notions.  New lighting also appeared and that certainly helps the quality of our photos that we can post!

All of the updates have certainly made the Accessory Shoppe studio more spacious and efficient.  We enjoy our time spent there and look forward to creating many more treasures for everyone!

January's Feature Items

Betty has started the year stitching like crazy!  She has new items tailored for general winter use and seasonal items centered on Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day.

We've spoken in a previous newsletter about our new framed monogram prints.  Shirley's  proud to be able to show you this new addition to our gift collection:

The prints make wonderful wedding and anniversary gifts.  They are truly unique.  They are also available in a lighter color frame, matting and thread.

Super Woman Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday is coming up on February 7th.  While the guy in your life sits in front of the TV cheering on his favorite team, we have something super fun for those of you who are local to do...SHOP!  {Did you really expect it to be something else?!}

 Changes to Our Blog Coming Soon... 

Those of you who actively follow our blog are probably wondering what has happened.  Although you haven't seen many blog entries lately, that doesn't mean we've been kicking back and taking it easy!  Instead, Shirley is in the process or learning WordPress (another blogging software program).  Once she masters that - you'll see big changes in the Accessory Shoppe blog.  Until then, continue to check our existing blog - although the entries won't happen as often, we'll still keep you up to date on all the happenings at Accessory Shoppe.

We hope to join Facebook in the near future, too!

Ooh La La Posh Soap Update

We've talked a bit before about our plans to introduce a soap line.  Well, the time is drawing nearer.  Shirley has been busy designing and testing many different soaps while Michelle is working on the website pages.  Until we can get everything in order, here's a look at things to come...

Shown above is our newest soap creation - our geometric variety.  We combine a series of soap layers to achieve this unique look.  Especially intriguing is the fact that the different colors run completely through the bar so there is no fading with use.  We will combine different colors and offer this line in many yummy scents.

The all green bar shown here is a simple ultra-white glycerin base variety.  It goes on creamy but washes off completely - leaving your skin soft without any soap residue.  This base allows many color varieties and will also be offered in many wonderful scents.

Shirley has been making soap for family and friends for many years.  She's excited to now share her soap lines with you.  The soaps have been featured locally over the last year at Miss Bailey's Poppy Patch and have been a popular item in Joanie's shop.  Shirley hopes that they will meet with the same success upon launching them on the website.

Accessory Shoppe will be offering soaps in several bases - glycerin, sweetened honey, oatmeal, goat's milk and an ultra-white base - just to name a few.  The majority of our soap orders will be made as special orders so the bars will be fresh when shipped to you.  Of course, that means we will need a few days to process your order and get it on its way to you.  Until we have the website launch, if you are interested in our soaps, please contact us for pricing and color/scent availability. 

Many Good Things to Come...

We started off the new year with a few tweaks to our website.  Please take a few minutes to look around - we've included a picture of the Accessory Shoppe Gals on the "About Us" page and added some new categories to our storefront.  Check out the "Seasonal Items" and "Special Occasions" pages - you're sure to find just the right items to celebrate the current holiday or one of life's special events.
